In FY25, Edgewood opened its doors to 4,016 children, youth, and families across the Bay Area—each with their own story, their own struggles, and their own path to healing. Behind every number is a person: a teenager finding the courage to speak about their anxiety for the first time, a grandmother stepping into the role of primary caregiver, a young adult learning to live independently after years in foster care, a family receiving nutritious food during a time of crisis.
Our community is as diverse as the Bay Areaitself. We serve families who speak 15+ languages, who come from every corner of San Francisco and San Mateo counties, who represent the rich cultural tapestry that makes this region home. What unites them is not their background, but their courage and their belief that healing is possible.
This is who we serve. This is who we are.
At Edgewood, we believe that a strong and empowered workforce that reflects the communities we serve is essential to supporting the well-being of Bay Area children and families. We are dedicated to embedding trauma-informed principles throughout the organization, with an approach that honors the lived experiences of both our employees and those in our care.
Our work is rooted in the belief that lasting change begins with dignity, empathy, and the understanding that every person’s story matters. We are here to support children, youth, and families in building strong foundations for healing, growth, and well-being—creating spaces where people feel welcome, supported, and truly understood.
By fostering connection and building relationships grounded in trust, compassion, and consistency, we strengthen our ability to meet the evolving needs of those we serve. We work to ensure that support is never limited by background, self-expression, or circumstance—expanding opportunity and shaping a more connected future for every child and family.
